I am selling my Canon 20D on ebay. With my D5’s and G10 I don’t see the need to have the 20D, it is a great camera and hoping it finds a good home.

The beginings for Robot Love 2…
I was play around with my carry camera the Canon G10, did these real quick. I am going back to night with the big rig.
I got a call from Kevin Roberts of Intimate Images to see if I could help out shoot the Space Coast Ballet performance of the Christmas classic The Nut Cracker at King Center. He asked me to shoot from the light control room which was a perfect range to use the Canon 2.8f L 400mm lens. I was able to get very close up and sharp images. The advantage of having two photographers is immense. You get to complete different perspectives of the same event.
It was a wonderful show, I was very impressed. I will have to go back next year.

I just finished a piece for the Melbourne Museum of Art Fund raiser. It was an adventure in mishaps, failed experiments and catastrophic failures. I just finished the final prints and dropped the piece off at the Museum.
It is an interesting piece, high speed capture of light bulbs being smashed by a hammer and capturing the aftermath of shattered bulbs. I also time lapse video I need to edit and get out, but first I need to sweep the floors and remove all the shattered glass…
The second night of the performance of the Vampire Ball by the Precision Contemporary Dance (http://www.precisioncontempdance.org) was held at the 321 Agency studio in downtown Melbourne. It was another wonderful performance, I had a chance to grab a few shots before, during and after the show.
Getting a good image in a nice calm studio is hard work. Shooting underwater is another whole other level. I drove up to Blue Springs State Park only to find it over crowed and admission to the park was blocked. Lucky Ponce de Leon Springs State Park was open had reasonable number for people. As we drove into the park a storm broke which closed the sprint to swimming, so we waited. Storm finely passed and the sprint was reopened.
In to the 68 degree water we go. I learn from the last attempt to shoot underwater a mask and weight belt are required to get a better shot. First thing is the mask fogs up complete in under a minute because of the difference between my body temperature and fridged water. As soon as we try to get to the bottom of the spring we kick up a good deal of sand and silt.
The suspended material in the water makes the shot look like crap as well eliminating the use of a strobe. Even time I try to get near the bottom I kick up more sand. Also having a camera in your hands and trying swim is tough. I tried get good shots, but I have to say this attempt to shoot underwater was a learning experience.
In a nutshell I need a lot more time underwater and behind the camera, it is very difficult to get a great image underwater. I going to try a swimming pool next, see what I can do with out the sand and the slit. Maybe get some gills and a heavier weight belt…
